Why do we love this wine?
This isn't just any sangiovese. Graetz sources fruit from his five best vineyards - Vincigliata, Londa, Lamole, Montefili, and Siena - each with vines up to 80 years old. These ancient plants, rooted in different terroirs across Tuscany from the heart of Chianti Classico to elevations reaching 600 metres, deliver fruit of extraordinary complexity and character. The 2016 vintage represents what Graetz calls "the perfect growing season", and it shows in the glass. Testamatta delivers layers upon layers: red fruit and black tea on the nose, evolving into tobacco, black cherry, and leather. The palate balances the power of the vintage with Sangiovese's natural elegance - this wine has serious personality.
