Why do we love this case?
We all know the expression about dangling a carrot in front of someone. But what if this entire case of wine is ‘carrots’ so to speak? You’ll get 11 bottles of the Wild Goose shiraz 2021, probably enough reason in itself to grab a case. But why stop there? We’ve added the ultimate carrot, a bottle of their lauded 'Rare Bird' Shiraz 2019, which is nothing short of a showstopper. All carrots, no sticks...that’s how we roll.
1x Cape Barren Rare Bird Shiraz 2019
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This rare drop from a McLaren Vale powerhouse is just coming into its prime drinking window now, and wowser, is it singing. From 35+ year old vines, and after 24 months in French and American oak, this drop has it all. Rich, dark plums and bramble berries layered atop sweet cedar and sandalwood envelop the olfactories with finesse. The palate is equally rewarding and opens up impeccably in the glass. Pure silk, with dark chocolate melting onto the rich, ripe dark fruit profile. Feel free to try this over a couple of days - it'll reward you greatly.
You’d pay $150 full price.

Tasting Notes
11x Cape Barren Wild Goose Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Spoilt for choice of old vine shiraz, this producer captures the intensity of their vineyards in true style. They've built a reputation for wines that are true to McLaren Vale, and the generations of craft that have been invested into the region. There’s deeply bound notes of spicy, chocolatey french oak that complements the pure line of blackcurrant, bramble and licorice. Standing tall now, we can’t wait to see where this will be in many years time.
