1x Maverick Ahren's Creek Ancestor Vine Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
Barossa Valley — Australia
As a general rule, the older the vines, the better the wines. But why? Well, the simplified answer is that as grape vines mature they begin to produce less fruit. As a result, all of the energy, all of the sun and soil, all of the flavour is condensed into less grapes, so you end up with highly concentrated, perfectly balanced fruit with the capacity to create extremely low quantity, extremely high quality wines that could out-last religion. This gorgeous wine is everything you'd expect from these world-famous vines and more. A complex bouquet of dark berries, cake spice, charcuterie and cedar lure in the lucky drinker and sets them up for a beautifully concentrated palate that feels both nuanced and assertive. And that's it, this wine imposes itself on any situation that it finds itself in, in the best possible way. Completely captivating.
You’d pay $320 full price.

1x Chateau Yaldara 1847 Eden Valley Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
Barossa Valley shiraz with all the trimmings. Chocolate ganache and ripe raspberries. Juicy plums and bursting blueberries. Tobacco, vanilla, flaky pastry. This BV stunner leaves nothing at the door. A combination of French and American oak for two years have given this wine time to come well and truly into its own, and mature it has. A harmonious, complex drinking experience that showcases fruit, earth, and oak profiles with aplomb. Classically styled shiraz that gives and gives - opulent, overt indulgence. Dig in.
You’d pay $180 full price.

1x Cape Barren The Vale Shiraz 2019
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Bursting with a complex and fruity palate that flows into a spectacular and warm finish, this shiraz is, hand-on-heart, one of the most impressive and iconic drops to make its way out of the Vale. Honestly, this deal is so unbelievably good that it's hard not to give you a peak behind the curtain. We can say this though - it's one of the best offers of the year. It's a shiraz that's smooth and toasty yet oh so complex with an intensity that will push your eyebrows to your hairline for all the right reasons.
You’d pay $158 full price.

1x Ulithorne Singularis Shiraz 2019
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This is one of those ridiculously complex drops. From one of our (and apparently every reviewer's) favourite producers of all time. Get ready to be embraced by an array of fresh berries, chocolate biscuit, fudgey brownie and vanilla pie decadence.
At five years, it's just starting to lean into its age - you certainly wouldn't have wanted to drink this marvellous drop any earlier. A little bit of leather and tobacco notes are starting to show themselves, marking this wine's time spent in the cellar. Make no mistake, this wine has got more lives than a cat still to live, with a depth and freshness to the tannins that is so remarkable to experience. We probably need not say much more about this one. If you're looking for a cost effective way to really knock people's socks off, you've found it right here.
You’d pay $175 full price.

1x Craneford Fire Station Shiraz 2019
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
The people have spoken. A huge 4.7 Vivino rating and a (clearly well informed) cult following have added to the mystique that surrounds this wonderfully crafted Barossa flagship. A genuine necessity in any serious wine collection, up there with some of the most well known shiraz in Australia. Here's your chance.
This wine is really really hard to get. Production is an extremely small operation dreamed up by some very well know names in Australian wine circles. A passion project, in every sense of the word. A big wine meant to be consumed between 5 and 30 years after harvest, and we've just made it to 5. The best is yet to come with previous vintages of this wine, dating back nearly two decades, still developing and drinking beautifully right now. Full-bodied, full flavoured and full of love, a collectors dream and a wonderfully crafted shiraz.
You’d pay $130 full price.

1x Balgownie Estate Museum Release Shiraz 2007
Red — Shiraz
Bendigo — Australia
Although frost limited yields to just 20 tonnes from an entire 70 acre estate (that's a tiny amount by the way), the fruit that made it into this iconic drop was nothing but the toughest, most concentrated and highest quality. An early adopter of the screw-cap closure, this producer was looking firmly toward the future (even back in the early naughties), and the grace and elegance with which this wine has aged is a testament to that foresight. Dense black fruits, herbaceous and spicy with a weighty, oak-supported backbone and soft tannins on the lingering finish. 15 - 20 years of bottle age has brought a deep complexity and added all those wonderful tertiary notes that us aged-red-heads are constantly searching for. In a word: Brilliant.
You’d pay $114 full price.
